Tharad on strike seeking transfer of Chief Officer of local civic body(Video)

North Gujarat’s Tharad town is observing bandh today seeking transfer of local civic body’s Chief Officer.
Tharad Municipality’s Chief Officer Panchabhai Mali with his team attempted to remove an encroachment of Hanuman mandir on Wednesday evening one one of the main roads of town. The locals in protest damaged the vehicles of Municipality staff and threatened the Chief Officer. In reaction to this the Chief Officer had filed police complaint. The Chief Officer had rushed to remove the extended part of Hanunam mandir without taking police with him.
It should be mentioned that in August 2012, the municipality had taken a decision to remove 29 religious encroachments, in response to which Tharad had observed strike.
