Ahmedabad, 17 August 2012

It seems, the 2012 Gujarat assembly elections will witness increasing use of technologies during campaigning. Have a look at some examples narrated below.

Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to interact online in video through Google hangout on 31st of August. Modi is today itself going to address around two dozen Garib Kalyan Mela through video conferencing.

Gujarat Congress President Arjun Modhwadia changes his Facebook cover picture frequently and often puts Congress party’s major announcements in photo format.

Leader of opposition Shaktisinh Gohil has launched a new look of his website.

Now look at this initiative. The Gujarat BJP’s campaign team has announced a dedicated phone number +918000980009 to connect with Narendra Modi.

Those who give miss call on this number or send SMS ‘NaMo4Guj’ on another number 54242 will receive regular updates on the Gujarat BJP.

This service has been launched as part of the election campaign 2012.

The announcement of this service has been made only in social media and online forums.

Insiders say, lot more is yet to come, just wait.
