Gujarat Congress leaves ticket decisions to Sonia Gandhi

First meeting of Gujarat Congress’s state election committee was held today in Gandhinagar at Shankersinh Vaghela’s house in presence of Arjun Modhwadia, Ashok Tanwar, Mohan Prakash, Shaktisinh Gohil, Shankersinh, and union ministers elected from Gujarat.
A report received from observers appointed for 182 assembly seats was discussed in detail.
According to an official release issued by Gujarat Congress, all the names received from observers are suggested to high commands. And power of selection of candidates for 182 seats has been given to national president of party smt Sonia Gandhi.
The official release said, “The party will review activity and performance of those who expressed desire to contest the election during next 30 days. Those who form booth committee in their assembly area and show good performance in their contribution to party’s programmes will be given preference in selection for candidature. Such review will be carried out after 30 days period”
Gujarat Congress President Arjun Modhwadia and other members of election committee have directed partymen not to make representation for candidature now onwards.
