Increase in remuneration, allowances of Home Guards in Gujarat

Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi today declared rise in daily remuneration to Home Guards jawans from existing Rs 80 to Rs 200.
Jawans will be paid daily remuneration of Rs 200 even when they are under training.
Messing allowance has been increased from Rs 16 to Rs 100 per day.
Parade allowance will be Rs 40, up from existing sum of Rs 14.
Instead of two pairs of uniform once in every four years – which is existing practice, the government will now offer two pairs of uniform every year.
Instead of Rs 25 per month washing allowance for uniform, now everyday Rs 4 allowance will be given during duty time.
There are more than 30,000 active Home Guards in Gujarat at present.
