Maheshwar Sahu shares details of Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2013’s success

According to state Shri Maheshwar Sahu, Principal Secretary, Industries & Mines, Government of Gujarat, the summit had 127 events this time compare to the 2011 summit in which 67 events were held.
Speaking at the valedictory function of the Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2013 at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar today evening, Shri Sahu said, “compare to 8 thematic events in 2011 summit, this time there were 31 such events. The biggest event was ICAI in education sector which was participated by 145 universities.”
While in 2011 summit there were 251 renown speakers, this time the figure was as high as 840.
The event witnessed presence of 58000 delegates. Among them more than 2100 were foreign delegates, compare to 1400 foreign delegates in the 2011 summit.
According to Mr. Sahu, in 2011 there were 8380 investment intentions received, while this time the figure was 17719. Sahu said that major chunk of these intentions was from small and medium enterprise sector.
While employment generated in this sector in 2011 was as high as 2,25,670, this time in the Vibrant summit 2013 the figure is estimated at 3,73,000.
Mr. Sahu said that Investment intentions in SME sector in 2011 were 4417, while this time they are 12886. He said 80% of these proposed units will start production in two years.
