The latest development in Ishrat Jahan encounter case

Gujarat High Court today allowed CBI’s plea to drop IPS officer Satish Verma from Ishrat Jahan fake encounter case probe from June 24, 2013. Verma will rejoin Gujarat Police on June 24, but continue to deliver his service to CBI upto 23rd June. CBI told the court that charge sheet will be filed in this case before 4th of July. The High Court directed CBI to complete probe in this case by July one. Meanwhile, outside the High Court campus, Ishrat Jahan’s mother and her lawyer told media persons that Ishrat was innocent and not a terrorist. They said they don’t need any TV channels or website of any organization to certify Ishrat’s innocence.
