Employee of Jagannath temple in Ahmedabad killed by enraged elephant

Ahmedabad: An around 60 year old employee of the famous Jagannath temple situated in Jamalpur area in Ahmedabad was today killed by an enraged elephant of the temple’s elephant stable.
Police said that Mahendrabhai was driver of tractor attached with the elephant stable of the temple (Hathikhana). He had reportedly touched the tail of a seemingly ‘musth’ (sexually aroused) female elephant Laxmi and his act enraged the pachyderm.
The beast trampled him with her feet. He was rushed to hospital in injured condition where he succumbed.
