BJP today declared a list of its candidates for 10 October Vadodara Municipal Corporation election.
Out of 39 candidates declared, 29 are new, and only 10 are repeated.
The most prominent name in this list is Atul Bedade, a cricketer from the city. Bedade’s name has been declared for candidature in ward no.20. Once international cricket player of Indian team, Bedade now runs a specialised Cricket shop in Vadodara.
Bedade is the Gujarat president of Kreeda Bharti, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) sports wing, for last 15 years.
Reacting on his selection for candidature, Atul Bedade said there is similarity between the game of cricket and politics. In both activities one wears white cloths. While in cricket one makes effort to bold the player, here one has to bold opposition party.
