Rs 18 crore revamped Lakhota palace museum to open tomorrow in Jamnagar

Jamnagar: Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani will dedicate Rs 18 crore restored Lakhota museum at Lakhota lake (Ranmal lake) in Jamnagar on Saturday evening.
The Lakhota palace was built during year 1834, 1839 and 1864 as part of relief work during scarcity period on instruction of Shri Jam Ranmalji-2. It was built in a shape of a fort over stone base. Lakhota museum is part of Lakhota palace building. The museum was developed by archaeology department of the State of Nawanagar. Due to impacts of earthquake and cyclones, restoration and conservation of this structure was necessary.
A large skeleton of whale which has been brought here from Somnath museum, wall paintings etc are the major attractions of this museum which will open for visitors from May 6 along with the attractions such as sound and light show, laser show and musical fountain.
The lake was restored, beautified and developed as tourism spot in recent years.
