Surat Municipal Green Bond Subscribed 7.65 Times on Launch Day

Surat: The Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) issued the Municipal Green Bond with International Green Certification through a public issue on October 6, 2025.
The Municipal Green Bond has received an overwhelming response, being subscribed 7.65 times by the evening of the first day. In the institutional category, it was subscribed 8.82 times, 7.48 times in the non-institutional category, and 3.30 times in the retail category, highlighting strong public and institutional interest.
This landmark initiative aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Net Zero Emissions and Developed India @2047, promoting sustainable and environmentally conscious development, the SMC stated.
Addressing a press conference, the Mayor and Municipal Commissioner urged everyone in Surat to participate in the Municipal Green Bond and contribute to environmental awareness. Interested investors can submit applications until October 9, 2025. DeshGujarat
