Gujarat Govt Expands Mukhyamantri Pak Sangrah Yojana, Doubles Aid for Farmers

Ahmedabad: The Gujarat Cabinet has approved a significant expansion of the Mukhyamantri Pak Sangrah Structure Yojana, increasing both the size limit and financial assistance for farmers to build crop storage structures in their fields.

Sharing details of the decision taken at a Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, government spokesperson and Minister Jitubhai Vaghani said farmers will now be able to construct crop storage structures of up to 600 square feet, compared to the earlier limit of 300 square feet.

The government has also doubled the financial assistance under the scheme. Previously, farmers were eligible for assistance amounting to 50 per cent of the total construction cost or up to Rs 1 lakh for structures measuring up to 300 sq. ft. Under the revised provisions, the maximum assistance has now been increased to Rs 2 lakh.

Vaghani said farmers constructing storage facilities between 300 sq. ft. and 600 sq. ft. will receive assistance on a pro-rata basis at a fixed rate per square foot.

The Mukhyamantri Pak Sangrah Structure Yojana was introduced to help farmers safely store harvested crops in their fields and protect them from weather-related damage and other risks.

To ensure effective implementation of the revised scheme, the state government has also granted administrative approval of Rs 154.36 crore for the financial year 2026–27.

The minister said the move is expected to benefit thousands of farmers across the state by enabling them to build larger storage facilities, preserve their produce more effectively, and potentially secure better prices for their produce. DeshGujarat
