Surat Railway Station Redevelopment: Three Superfast Trains to Originate or Terminate at Udhna

Surat: Amid the ongoing redevelopment of Surat Railway Station, Western Railway has announced partial cancellations and short-terminations of three key superfast trains to facilitate construction work and ensure passenger safety.

The redevelopment project, aimed at transforming Surat station into a world-class railway hub, has entered a crucial phase with the installation of a massive through-roof structure over Platforms 2, 3 and 4. Railway officials said the block is necessary to complete the work efficiently, though it is expected to cause inconvenience to passengers in the coming days.

According to Western Railway Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) Vineet Abhishek, certain trains will be short-terminated and short-originated during the block period.

Train No. 12935 Bandra Terminus–Surat Superfast Express will not operate up to Surat station until June 10, 2026. Instead, the train will terminate at Udhna station, resulting in the partial cancellation of services between Udhna and Surat.

Similarly, Train No. 20935 Surat–Amravati Superfast Express will originate from Udhna station instead of Surat station until June 7, 2026.

Train No. 20926 Amravati–Surat Superfast Express will also terminate at Udhna station instead of Surat until June 8, 2026, leading to the partial cancellation of services on the Udhna–Surat section.

Railway authorities have advised passengers travelling on these trains to check the revised boarding and destination points in advance and make necessary travel arrangements via Udhna station to avoid last-minute inconvenience.

Officials said the temporary changes are part of efforts to complete the station redevelopment project, which is expected to significantly enhance passenger amenities and operational capacity at Surat Railway Station. DeshGujarat
