Bombarding multiplexes have made closure of many single screen theatres in Ahmedabad. Here in this video you can see Rupalee cinema, a single screen theatre in eastern Ahmedabad’s Laldarvaja area. We have zoom our video camera’s lens for a long time to show you murals created by renowned painter Satish Gujral on these complex years back. When this complex will go, beautiful mural too will go.
And you remember that Natraj theatre where you might had seen many hit movies in 80s and 90s? Natraj has been demolished and it’s an open ground now for building a five star hotel. There was a dairy den parlor on the ground floor and a bookshop too. Bookshop is now at footpath and parlor is vanished. Shree theatre is in a condition of garbage. Dipali was years back closed and demolished, later on converted into a CityGold multiplex. Advance theatre has been converted into a shopping complex.
Watch out this page again and again. We will in future add here more videos of Ahmedabad based vanishing single screen theatres.
