26 December, 2009
The Indian Border Security Force(BSF) today foiled an infiltration bid along the Indo-Pak border in Kutch district of Gujarat, BSF officials said.
“A group of infiltrators coming in a boat tried to enter our territory through Harami Nala, a shallow water channel near pillar number 1175 of the international border around 12.30 am this morning,” they said.
“The occupants of the boat started firing at the BSF men following which they retaliated. The firing continued for about three hours after which they (intruders) fled,” they added.
BSF officials said there were no injuries on their side.
However, they said there was no information regarding any injury to the intruders. Also, their number was yet to be ascertained as they managed to flee.
Top BSF officials have rushed to Lakhpat to review the situation after the incident.
