Show me where’re Rs 1860 crore?Modi to ask PM(Video)
Bhavnagar, 17 June, 2011
Speaking at Bhavnagar district’s village after kick-starting girl child school enrollment drive of year 2011, Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi reacted to recent comment of central Human Resources Minister Kapil Sibal aggressively. Sibal during his recent visit to Ahmedabad had addressed a press conference at Gujarat Congress headquarter and had said, “The Union Government had allocated Rs 1,015 crore for Sarv Siksha Abhiyan in 2010-11, out of which Gujarat could spend only Rs 827 crore. We have allocated Rs 1,860 crore for Sarv Siksha Abhiyan for the year 2011-12. We wish that the state government spends the money for the purpose in a speedy manner.”
Reacting to this Narendra Modi said yesterday in public meeting, “Recently one minister of Congress had came here. He said we from Delhi have given Rs 1860 crore to Gujarat. I am going to write a letter to the Prime Minister and Anna Hazare to investigate, that this person claims that Rs 1860 crore are sent to Gujarat, but we have not received it in our treasury. So where are Rs 1860 crore gone? Should we investigate or not? He has said about it, shouldn’t we investigate? If this sum is lost at our side, send us to jail, and if it disappeared in Delhi, then they should go to jail.”
