Saputara, 2 December 2011
Gujarat’s only hill station Sauptara will host a week long paragliding festival between 24-31 December.
This will be the first-ever paragliding festival in Gujarat.
The event will be participated by expert paragliders from the country and abroad.
Sauptara is also expected to hold the national paragliding championship in May 2012.
Places identified for paragliding are Jain temple, Governor’s hill and Sunrise point. During two-year long study, trials have been conducted for the final event.
While Captain Rajiv Thakkar will work as a consultant and take care of all flying related tasks, the local administration will be on ground support duty by taking care of logistics, medical support, stay, transportation etc.
