-In a strange incident of murder by ‘dabeli’, a friend Kamal Yadav offered dabeli mixed with poison to his three friends to kill them. One Mangal was dead while two friends Manish and Pankaj are under treatment in Ahmedabad’s Chandkheda area, as they had only half completed the dabeli. Kamal Yadav did this after his three friends refused to help him in fixing one Gaurav who was allegedly harassing Kamal Yadav’s sister. Friends had fight on this issue four months back. Kamal Yadav rang his friends offering a party in garden. Friends had liquor in garden and then Dabeli mixed with poison was distributed. Kamal Yadav has switched off his mobile phone and he is absconding.

-BJP leader Uma Bharti today supported party President Nitin Gadkari’s opinion that Narendra Modi is capable of becoming a new party President and Prime Ministerial candidate.

-Amitabh Bachchan today evening completed Kutch part of shooting and reached Circuit house at Junagadh for ‘Colors of Gujarat’ ad campaign shoot. In Junagadh, he will be shooting at Khapro Khodiyo cave, Uparkot among other places.

-Further hearing on case which is about calling Narendra Modi to Nanavati commission will be held on Tuesday.

-Rajkot police today arrested city Congress President Shri Jashwant Bhatti. Shri Bhatti had scuffle with former BJP Mayor Uday Kangad ahead of Chie Minister Modi’s Sadbhavana fast in Rajkot. Both Bhatti and Kangad had filed complaint. After his arrest today in this case, Bhatti refused to file bail plea, and therefore he was sent to custody. Bhatti has started writing ‘late’ or ‘Swargasth’ before his name in protest for last some time.

-Central Bureau of Investigation had filed petition in Gujarat High Court complaining that the state government was not providing proper infrastructure to investigate Sadiq Jamal encounter case. After facing Gujarat High Court rap, Gujarat government today filed affidavit to give office and proper infrastructure to CBI within 10 days. CBI has sought six more months to investigate the case. Court will held further hearing on 7 February.

-Legendary film-star Shri Amitabh Bachchan was today morning seen riding a motorcycle on Kutch highway during shooting of Gujarat Tourism TV advertisement. A white Maruti van with cameraman inside was riding with Bachchan’s bike continuously. Bachchan was filmed while he was watching birds. Gujarat Tourism has started bird-watching tourism for last couple of years. This ad could be useful to promote international bird watchers festival.

-On the occasion of Somvati Amas today, major shiva temples of Gujarat attracted large number of devotees.

-After Nirma’s cement plant, BJP MLA of Mahuva Shri Kanubhai Kalsaria has now targeted Khadsalia based lignite mining company GHCL citing pollution as reason to protest. Kalsaria has already organized a rally of farmers at Collector office on this issue. Yesterday he called a meeting of farmers to discuss the issue at Khadsalia village. When minister of state Parshottambhai Solanki arrived and tried to address the farmers, he was opposed and had to leave the meeting. Local villagers led by Kalsaria pelted stone and broke glasses of car of a company official who was present there. According to local farmers, GHCL is involved in mining and crushing of lignite. Villagers allege that dust spread through this activity is harming the Eco-system. They say the company consumes underground water and discharge it in local water bodies including a river. They allege that because of such practice, the wells are now witnessing presence of salty water. After yesterday’s incident, GHCL has given assurance in writing that the company will stop lignite crushing activity for some time.

-One person on bicycle Lakshman Ranchhodji Suthar(20) of Rajasthan’s Badmer died on riad after he was hit by a car GJ-1-HF-191 on Sola over bridge in Ahmedabad.The incident happened last night when one car GJ-1-HF-191 was speedily coming to Sola over bridge from Sola Bhagwat side. The car first hit a bicycle and then speedily escaped the place moving to Satadhar side. One doctor who was on same road noted down the number and gave it to his friend Shri SB Trivedi who is police inspector of Chandkheda police station. Trivedi gave car’s number to concerned Sola police station. Police has now approached RTO to get the detail of who owns a car GJ-1-HF-191.
