Status of various development projects at Kandla port

During 2012-13, 32 port development projects including 13 PPP, 13 Non-PPP and 6 Captive Projects have been awarded. Of them, the projects awarded for Kandla Port are;

Development of berth no.14 at estimated cost of Rs 188.88 crore involving 2 MTPA capacity on PPP basis. Date of award 19th October, 2012.

Captive berth for Renuka Sugars at Kandla port at estimated cost of Rs 22 crore involving 1 MTPA capacity on PPP basis. Project awarded on 11th February, 2012.

Upgradation of barge handling facilities at bunder basin at Kandla at estimated cost of Rs 49.2 crore involving 4.71 MTPA capacity. A non-PPP project was awarded on 28th March, 2013.

In India, 58 port development projects in Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode have been awarded upto 31st March, 2013. Out of these 29 projects have been completed, 16 are at various stages of construction and the remaining 13 have been awarded during 2012-13. The status of PPP projects which are under implementation/construction at Kandla port is given below.

Development of 15th multipurpose cargo berth at Kandla port at estimated cost of Rs 188.87 crore involving 2 MTPA capacity. The project was awarded on 7 December 2010 on BOT basis. Likely date of completion is October 2014.

Development of 16th multipurpose cargo berth at Kandla port involving capacity of 2 MTPA at estimated cost of Rs 188.87 crore. The project was awarded on 7 December 2010 on BOT basis. Likely date of completion is June 2014.

Setting up of captive barge jetty at old Kandla (IFFCO) at estimated cost of Rs 27 crore involving 1.5 MTPA capacity. The captive project was awarded on 17 February 2011. Likely date of completion is May 2014.

Development of dry bulk terminal off Tekra near Tuna at an estimated cost of Rs 1060 crore. The project involves 14.11 MTPA capacity. It has been awarded on BOT basis on 24 February 2012. Liely date of completion is December 2014.
