Gujarat on top in creation of state-wide water grid

Gujarat has become the first state to have more than 1.20 lakh km long pipe line network for supply of water. This is the longest water supply gid among all states of India. More over the state has erected 2,392 km bulk pipe line.
Most of the areas of Gujarat get regular water supply through combination of water grid and bulk pipe line. The state has created capacity of of storage of 38,254 lakh liter water.
The state has set up 156 filter plants with 280 crore liter capacity for supply of pure drinking water. State’s 11,325 villages and 131 towns are connected to this network, while another 7,000 villages are supplied water through group water supply projects.
