GUJRERA introduces daily late fee for delayed quarterly progress reports from January 2025
December 20, 2024
Gandhinagar: The Gujarat Real Estate Regulatory Authority (GUJARERA) has implemented a new policy, effective January 1, 2025, requiring builders and promoters in the state to submit quarterly progress reports for their projects. Failure to submit these reports within the specified timeframe will result in a daily late fee being charged.
Currently, every project registered with RERA must upload a quarterly progress report on the RERA portal during the periods January 1-7, April 1-7, July 1-7, and October 1-7 each year. If a builder fails to submit the report by the specified deadline, their Quarterly Progress Report (QPR) is locked, and a late processing fee of ₹10,000 is charged, along with an additional month’s extension.
Under the new policy, builders who fail to submit reports on time will not have their QPR locked but will instead be subject to a daily late fee based on the project’s cost. This fee will range from ₹400 to ₹1,000 per day, depending on the project cost.
RERA has stated that if a builder fails to submit the previous quarter’s report by March 31, 2025, they will be charged both the daily late processing fee and an additional higher fee for each pending QPR. Only after settling these fees will the builder be allowed to upload the report for the new quarter. DeshGujarat
