Gujarat CM to launch ₹600 crore projects in Surat, including Ring Road Phase 2 work

Surat: Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel will lay the foundation stones and inaugurate a series of projects implemented by the Urban Ring Development Corporation Limited (URDCL), the Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) and the Surat Urban Development Authority (SUDA). The combined value of these projects exceeds ₹600 crore.
As part of the programme, URDCL will perform the groundbreaking for projects worth ₹241.85 crore, including the construction of a six-lane (3+3) road from the Sachin–Palsana Road Junction to the Sachin–Kadodara Road Junction, and a six-lane flyover on Surat–Kadodara Road under the Outer Ring Road Phase-2 project.
The SMC will inaugurate completed projects worth ₹249.30 crore, led by the major expansion and upgradation of the Variyav–Kosad Sewage Treatment Plant from 134 MLD to 220 MLD under the North (Katargam) Zone. Other works include the construction of an additional floor at Udhna’s N P School No. 157 and the launch of online payment services through the SMC WhatsApp chatbot.
The Municipal Corporation and SUDA will also lay the foundation stones for additional projects worth ₹109.51 crore across drainage, hydraulic and public infrastructure segments. These include a new 82 MLD water treatment plant at Magob (East Zone-A), multiple DI rising mains in the Rander Zone, sewerage network works in the newly included areas of Okha-Vankla-Vihel and Bhenssan, stormwater drainage networks in Limbayat, new health centres in T.P. Schemes 69 and 62, a new fire station at Vadod, and the construction of vending markets and culverts in the Udhna and Kanakpur zones.
Additionally, SUDA will initiate projects under T.P. Scheme 51 to upgrade a 30-metre road to a four-lane road between block numbers 311–297 and 339–294/B. Other SUDA works include the construction of flexible pavements on T.P. Scheme roads in Kholvad and Navagam, and the resurfacing and strengthening of the Kamrej service road on NH-48. DeshGujarat
