Rain Activity to Gradually Increase Across Gujarat; South Gujarat to Receive Showers Throughout Week

Gandhinagar: Gujarat is likely to witness a gradual increase in pre-monsoon rainfall activity over the next seven days, with South Gujarat expected to remain the main rain-bearing region, according to the latest forecast issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

The forecast indicates isolated light to moderate rain and thundershowers in districts such as Dang, Tapi, Navsari, Valsad, Surat and Narmada during the first half of the week. Rainfall activity is expected to expand from June 11 onwards, covering additional districts of eastern Gujarat and parts of Saurashtra including Amreli, Bhavnagar, Gir Somnath, Junagadh and Porbandar.

By June 12 and 13, showers are likely to extend into Panchmahal, Dahod and Mahisagar districts, signalling a broader spread of pre-monsoon conditions across the state. However, Kutch and large parts of North and Central Gujarat are expected to remain largely dry for most of the week.

The IMD has not issued any weather warning for Gujarat during the forecast period, while maximum temperatures are expected to remain largely unchanged. Ahmedabad is likely to experience partly cloudy conditions with daytime temperatures hovering around 42 degrees Celsius.
