Kutch, North Gujarat Remain Gujarat’s Hottest Regions as Monsoon Wait Continues

Ahmedabad: Despite the rainy weather in most parts of the state, Kutch and North Gujarat have remained the hottest regions in Gujarat as the monsoon is yet to reach these areas. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the monsoon has currently covered the entire South Gujarat region, along with most parts of Central Gujarat and Saurashtra. However, it is yet to arrive in parts of Kutch, Banaskantha, Patan, Vav-Tharad, Mehsana and Sabarkantha, due to which temperatures in these areas continue to remain higher than in the rest of the state.
According to the IMD’s weather report issued at 8:30 am on July 6, the highest maximum temperature in the state was recorded at 37.0 degrees Celsius in Deesa and Kandla. This was followed by 36.0 degrees in Bhuj, 35.4 degrees in Ahmedabad and 34.8 degrees in Surendranagar.
Ahmedabad recorded a maximum temperature of 35.4 degrees Celsius on July 5, which was 0.7 degrees above normal, making it the hottest among the state’s four major cities. The maximum temperature was 31.0 degrees in Surat, 33.2 degrees in Vadodara and 32.3 degrees Celsius in Rajkot.
On the other hand, Amreli recorded the lowest maximum temperature at just 28.7 degrees Celsius, which was 5.0 degrees below normal. The maximum temperature was 28.8 degrees in Diu and 29.6 degrees in Veraval.
As for the minimum temperature, it was 29.5 degrees in Kandla, 28.0 degrees in Okha, 28.1 degrees in Vadodara, 28.4 degrees in Bhuj and Dwarka, while Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar both recorded a minimum temperature of 27.0 degrees Celsius.
Morning humidity remained high in the southern and coastal parts of the state. Relative humidity stood at 98 percent in Surat, 97 percent in Rajkot, 92 percent in Amreli and Veraval, while Ahmedabad recorded 77 percent relative humidity. DeshGujarat
