Rain Intensity Eases Across Gujarat; Here’s 24-Hour Rainfall Data

Gandhinagar: Gujarat, which faced continuous torrential rains from Sunday to Tuesday, recorded a significant reduction in the intensity of rainfall on Wednesday. Most parts of the state received light drizzle during the last 24 hours ending at 6 am today, while moderate rain was confined to a few select areas. In total, only 60 talukas recorded rainfall during the last 24 hours ending at 6 am today, and only two of them received over an inch of rain.

The highest rainfall of 38 mm (1.50 in) was recorded at Nanapondha in Valsad district. This was followed by Kaprada (34 mm), Dang-Ahwa (24 mm), Vansada in Navsari (23 mm), and Umarpada in Surat (16 mm).

Elsewhere in South Gujarat, Dharampur and Khergam recorded 15 mm each, Subir, Netrang, and Dediapada recorded 14 mm each, while Vapi recorded 13 mm of rain.

Kukarmunda in Tapi district received 12 mm, Vyara and Songadh 10 mm each, while Pardi in Valsad and Tilakwada in Narmada also received 10 mm.

Surat city recorded only 1 mm of rain during the last 24 hours. At the same time, Chorasi and Mandvi received 8 mm each, Olpad 6 mm, and Palsana and Mangrol 5 mm each.

With this change in the weather, the spell of heavy rain that affected the state over the last three days has weakened. However, light to moderate rain continued in South Gujarat and some adjoining areas. DeshGujarat
