Two Indian carriers use same route as Malaysian Airlines

All 295 people on board a Malaysia Airlines plane were killed today after the aircraft was shot down over war-torn eastern Ukraine near the Russian border. The Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777 was flying from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur carrying 280 passengers and 15 crew and could have been brought down by a ground-to-air missile.
Two Indian carriers, Jet and Air India, use the same route over eastern Ukraine to operate flights to the US and Europe. Air India will abide by any international advisory “to avoid airspace over conflict zone like Ukraine”, an Air India official told news agency PTI. The change in route is likely to be executed by Jet Airways too.
Singapore Airlines SQ351 (B777) and Air India AI113 (B787) were about 25 km from #MH17 when it disappeared.
