Ukai reservoir to be developed as tourist place:Modi

Speaking at district level Sadbhavana mission fast at Vyara, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday promised to develop Ukai dam site as tourist place. Modi said he would go back to Gandhinagar and make necessary changes in rules pertaining to dam sites soon to make it possible to boost tourism.
Modi announced a new canal at cost of Rs 106 crore between Ukai dam and Navsari.
The Chief Minister announced Rs 200 cror development projects for farmers including 32 lift irrigation schemes, 51 km long left bank canal from Ukai dam to Purna river, Hindala ekar village’s irrigation project, and Dhamanvadi forest area bridge over Purna river.
He said once there were fights between reserved/unreserved candidates for limited number of engineering and medical seats, but now the government has created many more seats, and fight for seats has become a matter of past.
According to official release, 6642 people including 150 Muslims joined the CM in his Sadbhavana mission fast.
