24-Hour Rainfall Data from Across Gujarat: Surat City Tops the Chart

Surat: Rainy weather prevailed in South Gujarat during the last 24 hours. According to the State Emergency Response Centre data, Surat city recorded the highest rainfall of 66 mm (2.60 inches). Apart from Surat, Tapi, Navsari, Valsad and Dang districts also received good rainfall, while scattered rainfall was recorded in some areas of Saurashtra.

Valod in Tapi district received 52 mm (2.05 inches) of rainfall. Mangrol and Kamrej in Surat district received 42 mm (1.65 inches) each, Palsana received 34 mm (1.34 inches) and Areth received 32 mm (1.26 inches) of rainfall.

Umargam in Valsad district received 27 mm (1.06 inches), Nanapondha 25 mm, Pardi 17 mm, Kaprada 15 mm and Valsad city 13 mm of rainfall.

Kukarmunda in Tapi district received 19 mm, Chikhli in Navsari district received 18 mm, while Ranpur in Botad district also received 18 mm of rainfall.

Rajula in Amreli district received 8 mm, Bardoli in Surat district received 8 mm, Khergam in Navsari received 7 mm, Ahwa and Subir in Dang district received 6 mm each, and Chikda in Narmada received 5 mm of rainfall.

Apart from this, 4 mm of rain was recorded in Vaghai (Dang), while 3 mm of rain was recorded in Liliya (Amreli), Valia (Bharuch), Vansda (Navsari), and Ukai, Vyara and Dolvan in Tapi.

Two mm of rain was recorded in Jesar (Bhavnagar), Mandvi and Ambika in Surat, and Limbdi in Surendranagar, while 1 mm of rain was recorded in Ankleshwar (Bharuch) and Dharampur (Valsad).

The Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rain in South Gujarat over the coming days, while light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds is expected in other parts of the state. DeshGujarat
