South Korean envoy meets Narendra Modi, invites him to visit the country

South Korean high commissioner to India Mr. Lee Joongyu today called on Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi at state capital Gandhinagar. India and Korea are celebrating 40 years of diplomatic relations between two countries. Mr. Lee Joongyu invited Gujarat Chief Minister to visit Korea.
Mr. Lee Joongyu is Korean envoy in India for last one year.
Chief Minister Shri Modi spoke about his Korean visit in the past and also about similarities between Korea and Gujarat. Shri Modi expressed desire to develop Gujarat as a maritime state similar to Korea by expanding sea trade.
Cooperation with Korean maritime university for human resource development , development of ship building industry with Korean support, Saemangeum sea-wall project and its similarity with Gujarat’s Kalpasar project, possibility of setting up Samsung like semi-conductor city in Gujarat, cultural relations and youth exchange programmes etc were other subjects of discussion. Shri Modi invited Korean government to participate in this month’s national urban development summit in Gandhinagar.
Officers Shri Maheshwar Sahu and AK Sharma were present during the meeting.
