Widespread Rains Lash Gujarat; Here Are 24-Hour Rainfall Figures

Ahmedabad: The state has been witnessing continuous rainfall over the past few days, and in the 24 hours ending at 6 a.m. today, 197 talukas, mainly in South Gujarat, Saurashtra, and Central Gujarat, received rainfall. According to data released by the State Emergency Operation Center (SEOC), Gandhinagar, Khambha taluka in Amreli district recorded the highest rainfall at 7.76 inches, between 6 a.m. on July 4 and 6 a.m. on July 5.
According to the rainfall data, Rajula in the Amreli district received 6.73 inches, Una in Gir Somnath 6.42 inches, Gandevi in the Navsari district 6.18 inches, and Mahuva in the Bhavnagar district 6.06 inches. Heavy rain also lashed South Gujarat, with Chikhli in Navsari recording 5.67 inches, Jalalpore 4.84 inches, and Navsari taluka 4.80 inches.
Jafrabad in Amreli district received 3.90 inches, Savarkundla 3.54 inches, Gir Gadhada 3.39 inches, and Olpad in Surat district 3.15 inches. Dhandhuka in Ahmedabad district and Palsana in Surat each recorded 2.80 inches of rainfall.
Other notable rainfall figures include 2.48 inches in Khergam (Navsari), 2.44 inches each in Chotila (Surendranagar) and Songadh (Tapi), 2.36 inches in Dang, 2.32 inches in Pardi (Valsad), 2.24 inches in Areth (Surat), 2.20 inches in Kodinar (Gir Somnath), and 2.13 inches each in Barwala (Botad) and Visavadar (Junagadh). Additionally, Limbdi in Surendranagar, with 2.05 inches, was among the 25 talukas that received more than 2 inches of rainfall.
More than 50 talukas received between 1 inch and 2 inches of rainfall during the 24-hour period. Among them, Ahmedabad city recorded 1.54 inches, Kalol in Gandhinagar district 1.61 inches, Gandhinagar city 1.34 inches, and Rajkot city 1.18 inches.
According to SEOC data, light to moderate rainfall was also recorded in many other talukas across the state, with widespread showers continuing across South Gujarat, Saurashtra and parts of Central Gujarat. DeshGujarat
