Where Did It Rain in Gujarat? Here’s 24-Hour Rainfall Data

Gandhinagar: Clouds battered many areas of the state during the last 24 hours, ending at 6 am today. South Gujarat recorded the highest rainfall, while many areas of Saurashtra, Central Gujarat and North Gujarat also received good rainfall. Out of the 225 talukas of the state that received rain, 114 talukas recorded more than one inch of rainfall.
The highest rainfall was recorded in Vapi of Valsad district at 8.58 inches. This was followed by 6.46 inches in Kamrej of Surat district, 6.34 inches in Pardi of Valsad district, 6.26 inches in Umargam, 6.14 inches in Ghogha of Bhavnagar district, 5.91 inches in Nanapondha of Valsad and 5.79 inches in Kaprada. Surat city also received 5.39 inches of rainfall, causing waterlogging in many areas.
Khergam of Navsari district recorded 4.88 inches of rainfall. Lathi in Amreli district received 4.61 inches of rain, Bhavnagar city received 4.49 inches, Shihor received 4.45 inches, Babra in Amreli district received 4.37 inches and Amreli city received 4.25 inches. Radhanpur in Patan district received 4.21 inches of rain.
Sinor in Vadodara district received 3.90 inches, Khanpur in Mahisagar received 3.86 inches, Savarkundla in Amreli district received 3.82 inches, Dolvan in Tapi received 3.70 inches, Dharampur in Valsad received 3.62 inches and Dabhoi in Vadodara received 3.54 inches. Bodeli in Chhota Udepur received 3.43 inches, Gariyadhar in Bhavnagar district received 3.39 inches and Umrala received 3.15 inches.
Sagbara in Narmada received 3.11 inches of rain, Vagra in Bharuch received 3.07 inches, Gandevi in Navsari received 2.95 inches, Maliya in Morbi district received 2.87 inches and Navsari city received 2.80 inches of rain. Mangrol in Surat district received 2.76 inches, Liliya in Amreli received 2.68 inches and Ambika in Surat received 2.60 inches of rain.
Dhandhuka in Ahmedabad district received 2.17 inches of rain and Sanand received 1.97 inches, while Vadodara city received 2.32 inches of rain. Several other talukas of the state also recorded 1 to 2 inches of rain, indicating that the monsoon has gained momentum.
According to the Meteorological Department’s forecast, moderate to heavy rain is likely in various parts of the state in the coming days as well. Local authorities have appealed for caution, as heavy rainfall in some districts of South Gujarat, Central Gujarat and Saurashtra is likely to cause flooding in low-lying areas and increase water levels in rivers and streams.
