A delegation led by Andhra Pradesh minister visits Narendra Modi

A delegation of Andhra Pradesh’s Maritime sector led by Port-Airport and Infrastructure minister Mr. Ganta Srinivas today paid courtesy visit to Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi. Gujarat with its longest 1600 km coastline has secured a proud position of gateway of India’s international trade. The Andhra Pradesh government’s ports and infrastructure department delegation is in Gujarat to study the comprehensive coastal development success story.

The Chief Minister during his meeting gave details on policy linked success for ports and ports led coastal development in last ten years. Andhra Pradesh has 1000 km sea coast, and the delegation from Andhra was impressed with the success of Gujarat state coastal development authority and Gujarat Maritime Board.

During his talk, Shri Modi was of opinion that the Government of India should initiate a comprehensive and visionary planning for coastal development in India’s all maritime states. He added that Gujarat government has developed a port in cooperation with the private sector. Gujarat has taken initiative to invite other states to develop port in Gujarat, he further added.

Through the coastal development authority, coastal marine police force, maritime engineering and port management, port-led railway infrastructure, port city Dholera SIR and coastal port cargo’s infrastructure facilities, Gujarat has today become a gateway of prosperity in global economy.
