AAP Ahmedabad President faces allegation of having corrupt money linked properties

Ahmedabad: A plea has been filed by an individual against Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) Ahmedabad city unit President Jayantilal Mewada in Aravalli alleging corruption money linked properties of Rs 300 crore.
Virligiri Goswami, a resident of Kalol, has filed a complaint in the Modasa court. Goswami alleges that Jayantilal Mewada bought 24 properties and land in Bayad of Aravalli. Six individuals, including Jayantilal, his wife, son, and daughter, have been named in a complaint in Modasa court.
Jayantilal Mewada is a retired employee as Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP). He will contest the upcoming Gujarat Assembly election from the Asarwa constituency of Ahmedabad as AAP candidate. He allegedly filed a false affidavit indicating he had less property while running for Danilimda in the last assembly election.
Petitioner Viralgiri said – retired DySP Mewada had joined as Police force as a Sub Inspector. He then became Inspector and retired as DySP. During his duty he bought crores of Rupees of properties in Gandhinagar, Himmatnagar, Arvalli districts in order to conceal his corruption money. He has joined Aam Aadmi Party to evade probe into this. Such persons in order to conceal their corruption join political party.
Meawada meanwhile said that such application was filed even in the past and nothing objectionable was found. DeshGujarat
