Heat Persists in Gujarat Despite Monsoon; Ahmedabad, Rajkot Sizzle at 39.5°C

Ahmedabad: Despite the increasing intensity of monsoon rains, hot weather has continued in many areas of the state. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD) report at 8:30 am on July 2, Ahmedabad and Rajkot remained the hottest cities in the state on July 1, where the maximum temperature was recorded at 39.5 degrees Celsius.

The maximum temperature in Ahmedabad was 3.5 degrees higher than normal at 39.5 degrees, while the minimum temperature was 28.5 degrees. The maximum temperature was recorded in Kandla at 39.3 degrees, while Deesa and Gandhinagar were at 38.6 degrees and Surendranagar at 38.3 degrees.

On the other hand, the temperature remained low due to rain in South Gujarat and coastal areas. The maximum temperature in Surat was 32.4 degrees, Vadodara at 35.8 degrees, Bhavnagar at 35.2 degrees, Amreli at 34.5 degrees, and Dwarka at 34.0 degrees.

The lowest maximum temperature was recorded at 29.5 degrees in Veraval, while Daman recorded 29.8 degrees and Diu recorded 31.1 degrees.
