Allen, Aakash, Unacademy Among 17 Coaching Institutes Served Fire Safety Notices in Ahmedabad; One Sealed

Ahmedabad: Giving top priority to student safety, the Ahmedabad Fire and Emergency Services (AFES) conducted a special fire safety inspection drive at tuition classes, coaching institutes, computer education centres and other educational institutions across the city. During the campaign, officials also inspected establishments that are not covered under the provisions requiring a fire safety certificate and checked whether minimum fire safety arrangements were in place, according to a press release.

During inspections carried out by various fire stations in the North-West Zone on June 23, 2026, officials examined fire extinguishers, emergency exits, access routes, electrical safety measures and other basic fire safety arrangements. Notices were issued to the following institutions for deficiencies related to fire safety:

  • Future Path Education
  • Ahuja Education
  • G-Tech Computer Education
  • Dwarkesh Education Institute
  • Yathashakti Education Institute
  • J.K. Shah Coaching Institute, Navrangpura
  • Rajshree Study Centre, Naranpura
  • Allen Career Institute, Sindhubhavan Road, Thaltej
  • Akash Educational Services, Thaltej
  • Unacademy, near Lady Lake, Thaltej
  • Amor Design Institute, Vastrapur
  • Yash Classes, Mansi Cross Road
  • Paresh J. Salut Classes, 2nd Floor, Saman Complex, Mansi Cross Road
  • Aloha Classes, 2nd Floor, Saman Complex, Mansi Cross Road

During the inspection, officials found that the fire safety certificate of Navkar Digital Institute had expired. The institute was subsequently sealed in accordance with the relevant provisions.

Ahmedabad Fire and Emergency Services has urged all educational institutions, tuition classes and administrators to ensure the availability of minimum fire safety equipment and necessary safety arrangements to protect students and staff. The department said strict action will continue against establishments found violating fire safety norms in the future.
