BIS Raids Another Surat Firm, Seizes 2,265 Electrical Appliances Without ISI Mark

Surat: The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has raided Dolphy India Private Limited, located at Kosmada, Surat, and seized 2,265 electronic products without the mandatory BIS-ISI mark. The products seized include electronic hair dryers, electric hand dryers, and electric irons.
Based on specific information received by BIS, a raid was conducted on June 23, 2026, at the company located at Plot No. 24, Block No. 289/1, Plot-2, Kosmada. During the investigation, it was found that the company was manufacturing, selling, and storing electronic products without the BIS-ISI mark and license number. After the raid, the officials seized a total of 2,265 items of products.
The BIS-ISI mark is mandatory for such products as per the “Electrical Appliances for Skin or Hair Care (Quality Control) Order, 2023” and the “Electrical Wires, Cables, Electrical Appliances, and Safety Equipment and Accessories (Quality Control) Amendment Order, 2010” implemented by the Department of Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India.
According to the BIS, manufacturing, selling, or storing such products without the BIS registration mark is a violation of Section 17 of the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016. This offense carries a penalty of imprisonment for a term that may extend to two years or a fine that may extend to at least ₹2 lakh or both. DeshGujarat
